Raimo Peterson is the Head of the Technology Branch at the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence (CCDCOE). Prior to this assignment, he has held diverse cyber security management, leadership and expert positions for Siemens in Germany, South Africa and Estonia. He has worked on large international IT security projects for the telecommunication industry and for the public sector. In his current position, Raimo leads a group of researchers focusing on technical aspects of cyber defence, concerning the monitoring, penetration testing, malware analysis, digital forensics and industrial control systems.
The Technology Branch team that Raimo leads is one of the main contributors of the Locked Shields exercise, the largest and most complex international live-fire cyber defence exercise in the world, organised by the CCDCOE since 2010. Besides the leadership tasks, on his current position Raimo has been driving the development of the critical infrastructure systems and integrating them into the cyber range and cyber defence exercises.
Raimo holds a Diploma in Telecommunications from the Tallinn Technical University.
