LtCol Franz Lantenhammer has been appointed to the position of Deputy Director & Chief of Staff of the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence (CCDCOE) in Tallinn, Estonia since October 2016.
From 2010 to 2016 he assumed the position of Head, Computer Emergency Response Team Bundeswehr (CERTBw) in Euskirchen, Germany. From 2007 to 2010 he was appointed Head, Incident Response and Vulnerability Assessment Team.
Preceding this position, LtCol Lantenhammer also held positons at SHAPE in Mons, Belgium from 2003 to 2007. He was Deputy Director & Head Vulnerability Assessment Team at the NATO Computer Incident Response Capability Technical Centre (NCIRC TC) at NATO Communications and Information Systems Agency (NCIA) and INFOSEC Staff officer at SHAPE J6.
Before that, LtCol Lantenhammer assumed positions as INFOSEC Staff Officer at the Bundeswehr Operations Command and the Bundeswehr Army Combat Training Centre as well as positions as Military Intelligence Officer at the Army Command and the 1st German/Netherlands Corps.
LtCol Lantenhammer accomplished several cyber security related certifications, including CISSP and he was involved in community work as member of the Steering Committee at the German CERT association (CERT Verbund) and Chairman of the Education Committee at the Forum for Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST, www.first.org).
LtCol Lantenhammer joined the German Armed Forces 1980 at the Mountain Infantry Battallion and studied Geodesy at the Bundeswehr University in Munich.
