LTC Pedro Cortés Ruiz is the Operations Branch Chief, he joined the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence (CCDCOE) on 1st of August 2017. Prior to this appointment, LTC Cortés served as Commander of the Electronic Warfare Battalion II/32, in Almería, Spain (September 2014 to June 2017).
Among other assignments, he has served as Signal platoon leader in XI Mechanized Brigade, as Signal Company Commander in XVII Signal Battalion and as Executive Officer in the Support Signal Battalion III/21. His has also been a Staff Officer in the Land Forces Headquarter, a Professor in the Army Signal School and served two tours in Bosnia-Herzegovina as a signal officer.
LTC Cortés is a graduate of the Spanish Officer Army Academy and he earned a Master’s degree of Cybersecurity and Cyberdefence from the Fundación CEU (Centro de Estudios Universitarios) – San Pablo.
