The 10th CyCon Hosts 700 Cyber Experts in Tallinn

NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence (CCDCOE) launches today, on May 30th, the 10th International Conference on Cyber Conflict, CyCon 2018. The anniversary event focuses on the theme of maximising effects in the cyber domain. CyCon 2018 has brought to Tallinn around 700 cyber experts from more than 40 nations.

„CyCon, together with yesterday’s Munich Security Conference Cyber Security Summit, turn Tallinn into a real Cyber Woodstock hosting discussions that shape the future of cyber security. Together we can maximise the effects of our efforts,“ said Merle Maigre, Director of the NATO-accredited cyber defence hub.The conference will be opened by H.E. Kersti Kaljulaid, the President of Estonia. Other speakers include Alex Stamos, Chief Security Officer of Facebook; Dr. John Zangardi, the Chief Information Officer for the US Department of Homeland Security; Dr. Antonio Missiroli, NATO Assistant Secretary General on Emerging Security Challenges; H.E Toomas Hendrik Ilves, former President of Estonia; General Robert Neller, Commandant of the Marine Corps, Dr. Martin Libicki, recognised author and researcher; Bruce Schneier, internationally acclaimed cryptographer and writer; Camille François, Intelligence Director of Graphika; Thomas Dullien, Staff Software Engineer at Google Zero; Dr. Kevin Jones, Head of Cyber Security Architecture, Innovation and Scouting at Airbus; Dr Brian M. In partnership with Munich Security Conference (MSC) the Cyber Security Summit (CSS) took place in Tallinn on 29 May, 2018 on the eve of the 10th CyCon. CyCon adheres to the highest standards in academic research. Proceedings are released as an IEEE publication, contributing to the world’s foremost technical literature on electrical engineering, computer science and electronics.
