The 10th International Conference on Cyber Conflict, CyCon 2018, organised by NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence (CCDCOE) concluded today in Tallinn. The anniversary event hosted around 700 cyber experts from more than 40 nations. In 2019 the 11th CyCon will take place from 28 to 31 May on the theme of „Silent Battle“.
„CyCon proved again to be a comprehensive, thorough and inspiring cyber security discussion thanks to the open and frank viewpoints presented by prominent experts. We will take it further next year, continuing discussions on the silent battle in cyber domain,“ said Merle Maigre, Director of the NATO-accredited cyber defence hub.
Keynotes of CyCon 2018 by H.E. Kersti Kaljulaid, the President of Estonia, H.E Toomas Hendrik Ilves, former President of Estonia and Alex Stamos, Chief Security Officer of Facebook are available online. Other speakers included General Robert Neller, Commandant of the Marine Corps, John Frank, Vice President of Microsoft, Dr. John Zangardi, the Chief Information Officer for the US Department of Homeland Security;Dr. Martin Libicki, recognised author and researcher; Bruce Schneier, internationally acclaimed cryptographer and writer; Camille François, Intelligence Director of Graphika; Thomas Dullien, Staff Software Engineer at Google Zero; Dr. Kevin Jones, Head of Cyber Security Architecture, Innovation and Scouting at Airbus; Dr Brian M. Pierce, Director of the DARPA Information Innovation Office and many others.
Video recordings of the majority of sessions and CyCon 2019 Call for Papers will be made available by CCDCOE in the beginning of June. CyCon adheres to high standards in academic research.
Proceedings are released as an IEEE publication, contributing to the world’s foremost technical literature on electrical engineering, computer science and electronics.
