As part of his visit to Estonia, the Supreme Allied Commander Europe Admiral James Stavridis today visited the Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence.
He learned about the Centre’s current activities and perspectives for the future. Director of the Centre Col Ilmar Tamm gave an overview of the Centre’s priorities and provided insight to some of the current issues in the field of Cyber Security.
Admiral Stavridis complimented on the centre’s work: “It is good that you engage academic institutions as well as the private sector to your activities because it is clear that cyber defence cannot be solely a military responsibility” he said.
During his visit to Estonia, Admiral Stavridis was hosted by General Ants Laaneots, Chief of the Estonian Defence Forces and met with high officials from the Parliament, Minsitry of Defence as well as the Prime Minister.
