The Centre conducts technical cyber defence exercises which allows the participants to learn and test the skills needed to fend off a real attack.
In 2010 the Centre organised, together with Swedish National Defence College and Estonian Cyber Defence League, an exercise titled Baltic Cyber Shield. After a small break, the exercise returned under the name Locked Shields and it has continued as a series ever since, taking place every spring.
In addition we are also contributing to the NATO Cyber Defence Exercise Cyber Coalition since 2009 by helping to plan, develop, and execute the exercise. Cyber Coalition is designed to give its participants a better understanding of NATO’s Cyber Defence capabilities and to identify areas for improvement within the NATO-wide Cyber Defence community.

During the exercise, six teams from Latvia, Lithuania, Sweden and NATO NCIRC attempted to defend virtual computer networks against hostile attacks.
