Commander Ilker Duranlioglu is a Navy Officer in the Turkish Navy. He is currently assigned as the Head of the Vulnerability Management Section at the NCIRC Technical Centre. His responsibilities include conducting online and onsite Vulnerability Assessments on NATO networks, carrying out continuous Risk Assessments on CIS Systems and coordinating and participating into the Cyber related exercises in NATO.
After graduating from the Turkish Naval Academy, CDR Ilker Duranlioglu served in various naval platforms and the Turkish Navy Research Centre Command. He has a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from the Naval Postgraduate School.
Cyber Defence for NATO: An Operational Perspective
Why are we worried about Cyber Defence? What is the impact of a cyber-attack on our operational systems? What is the impact on actual operations? What are we trying to protect? What is happening now? What is going to happen in the future? In this speech, we will try to address these questions and topics from a NATO perspective including examples from actual incidents and initiatives and projects to automate and improve NATO’s Cyber Defence.
